Currently, our cities generate a large amount of solid waste annually, including substantial quantities of waste paper products, waste plastics, rags and various textiles, waste rubber, shredded leather products, and waste wood—all high-calorific-value waste. This type of urban solid waste is complex and diverse in composition, with most materials possessing high strength and toughness, making overall pretreatment quite challenging. The crushing process is the most difficult and represents a major obstacle to the resource recovery of solid waste.

Due to limitations in pretreatment technology and the high difficulty of processing, a large amount of high-calorific-value urban solid waste has long been disposed of through landfill, which not only occupies land resources and causes environmental pollution but also leads to a serious waste of usable solid waste resources. If this high-calorific-value urban solid waste is processed to a standard particle size, it can be manufactured into high-quality solid renewable fuel (SRF/RDF). This type of alternative fuel can effectively replace traditional fossil fuels and can be widely used in industrial heating, kiln production, and other scenarios, significantly reducing fossil energy consumption, effectively reducing pollutant emissions, and mitigating the negative impact of solid waste disposal on the ecological environment.

The new technology for preparing SRF/RDF from municipal solid waste mainly consists of conveying equipment, crushing equipment, magnetic separation equipment, air separation equipment, and dust suppression equipment. The entire system integrates core functional modules such as conveying, crushing, sorting, and transfer, enabling the full-process resource-based treatment of mixed municipal solid waste from large to small and from mixed to organized, achieving the reduction, harmlessness, and resource utilization of municipal solid waste.

The new technology for preparing SRF/RDF from municipal solid waste features a complete and stable process flow: materials are conveyed to a municipal solid waste crusher for coarse crushing, effectively reducing the overall volume of the materials and breaking up mixed materials; the coarsely crushed materials enter the magnetic separation equipment, accurately separating and recovering iron impurities; the iron-free materials continue to be conveyed to a fine shredder for further fine crushing to the ideal particle size required by the process; the qualified materials finally enter the RDF forming machine, where they are extruded under high pressure to produce high-density RDF solid pellet fuel. The entire processing system features high intelligent sorting accuracy, stable equipment operation, and strong adaptability to various working conditions, making it suitable for large-scale resource-based treatment operations of various types of municipal solid waste.
